SCHOLARSHIPS

The USTA Texas Tennis Foundation scholarship program seeks to identify and support students who combine academic promise with character and a commitment to their community. Through the generosity of many individuals, nonprofit organizations and corporations, the USTA Texas Tennis Foundation has established merit, need-based scholarships for students who live within the USTA Texas section and have an interest in tennis. Scholarship support provides students an opportunity to obtain a college education without incurring some of the financial hardships that can come with earning a degree. The support helps students fulfill many goals, develop their talents and broaden their horizons through educational success. 

AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS

The USTA Texas Tennis Foundation currently offers the following scholarship opportunities:

  • RON WOODS SCHOLARSHIP  - 5 (five) awarded annually - $2,500

  • USTA TEXAS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS - awarded annually - amount varies

  •  MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS​​

    • HENRY COX MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    • PAUL CHRISTIAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    • Dr. ALFREDO TREVIÑO, Jr. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

APPLICATION PROCESS

The USTA Texas Tennis Foundation Scholarships require the following:

  • A completed application

  • Parent/Guardian previous year Federal Income Tax Returns (the same information you send the IRS)

  • SAT or ACT scores

  • Two sources/letters of recommendation

  • List of extracurricular activities, including tennis activities and community service

  • Personal statement including education expectations and career goals

  • Image / Photograph
